Gorgeous modern fall Overlook Barn wedding in Banner Elk, NC

The Overlook Barn sits on Beech Mountain with the most amazing views. Insert falling fall leaves and it was a scene from a Hallmark movie. It was one of the most gorgeous venues I’ve seen as a wedding photographer and dream to photograph in! It’s an absolute yes for me.

It’s not too far a drive from larger cities if you’re looking for a mountain destination wedding! A 4-hour drive from Raleigh, 2 1/2 from Charlotte, or 2 hours to Asheville! There is so much for your guests to do and explore if they are not from North Carolina and so much locally so explore if they are!

November wedding at The Overlook Barn

We already knew mountain towns have my heart, but flying from the Rocky Mountains to the Blue Ridge Mountains was pretty damn special. I flew into Charlotte, rented a car, and set sail for Banner Elk, North Carolina just outside of Boone. It was so good to be back home in North Carolina! I may be a Colorado girl now, but there’s nothing quite like NC. Especially the mountains.

There were a few inches of snow here and there and things were starting to get icy, so I felt most comfortable with a car that did well in the snow.

Getting ready in the bridal suite

They have a gorgeous suite to get ready in and another for your partner! The space is gorgeous and really well thought out. I love that all the different buildings and locations on the property are all super close.

Wedding ceremony and reception in the barn

There are a few different options for where you want to have your ceremony! It was a chilly, windy November day with snow on the horizon so being indoors was really nice and cozy. The cliffside barn had such a gorgeous overlook for their backdrop.
