Breckenridge is one of those cute little mountain towns that has it all. Amazing views, a lively downtown, incredible skiing, and lots of outdoor activities. Whether you’re planning a couples trip, family reunion, ski trip, or just a weekend getaway, it’s hard to beat.
As a photographer in Summit County, I’ve had the chance to explore lots of the vacation rentals and hotels. Here are some of my favorites worth checking out!
Hotels in Breckenridge
Breckenridge has a ton of hotel options to choose from and can feel a little overwhelming. To make it easier, here are some of my favorites to consider for your trip!
Grand Colorado on Peak 8
The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 is the mecca for a luxury ski trip, ski-in, ski-out experience! It’s tucked away a little further from Main Street, but you can take the gondola right into town or a quick bus ride or a quick 5 minute drive. They have so many amenities and more of a resort like experience.
It’s steps away from the Colorado SuperChair, but my personal favorite thing about it is their slopeside hot tubs and pools. They have a spa, on-site restaurants, bars, coffee shops, an arcade, and even a private movie theatre (highly recommend reserving a spot.) This is one of my favorite spots for a treat yo’self staycation!
Gravity Haus is a trendy, modern boutique hotel. It’s the best of both worlds as it’s ski-in ski-out right at the base of Peak 9 and off Main Street! They have lots of modern amenities like a restaurant and bar with great food and cocktails, a cute coffee shop, a dry sauna, and a gear rental shop.
Why we love it:
Ski-in, ski-out access
Main Street location
Modern decor
On-site restaurant and cute coffee shop
If you’re looking for a similar spot, check out The Village at Breck right next door for condos with kitchens and a more traditional family atmosphere.
Hotel Alpenrock (formerly Doubletree) recently got a new makeover and is now a gorgeous and luxurious space with updated and modern features. It’s a 10-minute walk to downtown Breckenridge, but also ski-in, ski-out access on Peak 9.
The Lodge at Breckenridge is a cozy hotel with amazing panoramic views of the ski resort! It’s a short 10-minute drive to Main Street, but also close to lots of hiking or mountain bike trails. It’s tucked away up on Baldy Mountain and super peaceful.
BlueSky Resort is a hotel with the perfect location near Peak 8. Secluded, but also a close walk to town and ski-in, ski-out with the Snowflake lift right outside.
The Ranahan is a newer luxury hotel and more secluded, just outside of Breckenridge. It’s the perfect hub if you want to explore Breckenridge and other towns in Summit County. It’s not super close to anything, so it’s perfect if you plan on renting a car and exploring the mountains.
The Carlin is one of Breckenridge’s newest and raving spaces. The main level is The Carlin restaurant (which is incredible), the bottom level is their underground tavern (also incredible) and the Inn has 4 luxury suites. It’s one of the best locations as your right on Main Street and super close walk to the gondola.
If a B&B or hostel is more your style, the family-owned Fireside Inn is right in the heart of downtown Breckenridge. The building is an 200-year-old space in the historic area.
If you want privacy or more room to spread out with a homey vibe, Breckenridge has plenty of gorgeous vacation rentals. To be close to the hustle and bustle, stay near Main Street and the resort. For something quieter, check out cabins outside of town, like toward Blue River.
Best vacation rentals for couples and small groups
My photography journey started in 2009 when I fell in love with documenting moments and capturing people in their element.
12 years ago, I moved to the amazing little mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado, from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Wild to say I've photographed over 300 weddings and portrait sessions all over. I started this small but mighty team of local mountain photographers to capture whatever season of life you're in.
