Looking for wedding gifts for outdoorsy couples who love camping, travel, and hiking? If they’d rather plan a road trip than register for fine dinnerware, this list is for them.
As a Colorado wedding photographer and outdoor enthusiast, these are some of our favorite camping and adventure essentials we use when we’re out exploring.
This guide includes useful, practical and unique gift ideas for nature-loving couples, whether you’re shopping for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming gift.

Best for: For car camping or van life couples
A Pendleton wool blanket is one of those wedding gifts that actually gets used. It’s warm, durable, and easy to throw in the car for road trips, campfires, or even beach days. This is something they’ll pack on every adventure for years.
Best for: For couples who love campfire nights
A 2-person camping chair is the perfect campfire date night setup. Instead of sitting in separate chairs, they’ve got one cozy setup for campfires, concerts, tailgates, or backyard hangs. It folds up easily for road trips and pairs perfectly with a wool blanket for cool nights as simple as hanging out in the backyard.
Pair it with:
Perfect for: Date nights at home or camping trips
Outdoor pizza ovens is one of those wedding gifts couples wouldn’t usually buy for themselves, but end up using all the time. It’s perfect for backyard hangs, cabin weekends, or taking camp dinners to the next level.
Many models run on propane, which makes them surprisingly easy to bring along on road trips or car camping adventures.

Best for: Exploring national parks year-round
The America the Beautiful Pass costs $80 per year and gives access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites across the U.S., including national parks, monuments, and forests. For couples who love road trips, hiking, or planning their honeymoon around outdoor adventures, this is one of the most practical wedding gifts you can give.
It’s simple, affordable, and encourages them to plan more trips together instead of adding another item to a shelf.

Pair it with:
Best for: Couples who love road trips and travel
A rental car credit is a practical wedding gift for couples planning a honeymoon abroad or a national park road trip. Instead of adding more gear, you’re helping fund the adventure itself. It’s flexible, easy to give and works whether they’re flying somewhere new or planning a cross-country drive.
Pair it with a road trip guidebook, a travel journal, or a National Park pass to turn it into a full experience gift.
Best for: Outdoorsy couples who love relaxing in nature

An Eno Hammock is one of my favorite things to pack for camping trips or Airbnb stays. It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and instantly turns any area into a fun outdoorsy hangout spot. All you need are two sturdy trees and you’re set.
The Eno Doublenest can fit up to two people, but I still recommend you each have your own for optimal comfort. That’s relationship 101.
Just note: the straps are usually sold separately, so make sure to grab those too.

Perfect for: Camping couples dealing with fire bans
If you’re looking for a gift for couples who love camping, a propane fire pit is a great choice! With frequent fire restrictions (especially in places like Colorado and California), having a portable fire pit with an on-and-off switch means they can still enjoy a campfire without worrying about regulations.
It’s easy to pack for car camping and much cleaner than a traditional fire. If fires aren’t a problem in your area, a solo stove is a great traditional option! It’s portable and makes it easy to get a fire started anywhere.
Best for: Ski days, road trips, and off-grid adventures
Walkie-talkies are such an underrated wedding gifts for outdoorsy couples (and end up being surprisingly useful.) They’re perfect for ski days, hiking in areas without cell service, coordinating, or staying connected on road trips.
There’s many sets under $50 and lightweight enough so you can just keep them in the car.
Perfect for: documenting their travels

This would be such a gift for any couple who loves to take pictures on their trips! Try a Polaroid camera for something classic, or this new hybrid digital/instant camera that also prints out your pictures! Both cameras will take the Instax Polaroid photo paper.
For a higher-end option, check out a compact Fujifilm camera (add a compact lens) for more professional style photos, but small and lightweight.

Best for: For the coffee-loving couples
A cup of coffee while camping is your morning coffee like no other. This Stanley French Press is perfect for camping. Pair that with a fire pit or your propane stove, and you can pretty much honeymoon in your backyard.

Best for: Couples who love to get out on water
If you’re looking for an adventurous gift for couples, a blowup kayak or stand-up paddle board would be a fun place to start! You can either go with two single kayaks or go with a tandem. That will really test the relationship!
We have this cheaper inflatable kayak that surprisingly lasted us years, and we love it, but I’ve recently been eying the Bote inflatable kayaks.
Best for: Couples who love to hike in the backcountry
Do you want a little peace of mind for their safety when they’re out of cell service? A GPS would be a great gift for hiking couples, or something like an All Trails Pro subscription for offline maps on their phone.
→ Check out this Garmin Satellite Communicator
Best for: couples who want to travel around in an RV
If they love road trips, camping, and national parks, an RV rental gift card might be a dream gift. Outdoorsy.com is like the Airbnb of camper vans and RVs.

Perfect for: Couples to display their adventures at home
As a photographer, there’s something so special about being able to display your own photography or photos with your favorite people. The Aura Digital Picture Frame has been a hit in 2025 for gifting pretty much anyone in your life. You can send photos right from your phone to the frame.
→ Grab an Aura digital picture frame here
Best for: couples who love to cook at camp
We recently added a Coleman propane stove to our car camping gear and paired it with a cast iron griddle which fits perfectly on top. Honestly, this setup has made it so much easier to cook delicious meals when we’re camping!

Hi! I'm Kelsey!
My photography journey started in 2009 when I fell in love with documenting moments and capturing people in their element.
14 years ago, I moved to the amazing little mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado, from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Wild to say I've photographed over 300 weddings and portrait sessions all over. I started this small but mighty team of local mountain photographers to capture whatever season of life you're in.
