Colorado has so many gorgeous and unique resorts that are perfect for a couple’s trip. Whether you’re looking for an outdoorsy experience, a luxury relaxing spa getaway, or a peaceful hot springs resort, Colorado has a little bit of something for everyone!
This list includes beautiful resorts all over Colorado, from easy trips near Denver to more secluded spots in Western Colorado. Colorado truly has such a wide variety of landscapes, elevations, and styles, depending on what you want.
As a wedding photographer in Breckenridge for the last 14 years, I’ve been lucky enough to explore many of these places, and I’ve put together this list of places I recommend, or that are on my personal bucket list.
For: Couples who want a classic luxury resort close to Denver.
The Broadmoor is a Colorado staple and a 5-star spa resort in Colorado Springs. If you’re looking for an escape from Denver with luxury amenities, you’ll love The Broadmoor! There are lots of options for everyone, from golfing, a spa, to entertainment.
This is one of the easiest high-end resorts to get to from Denver, which makes it a great option if you want a weekend of pampering without a long mountain drive. If you’re looking for an amazing customer service experience, this is it!

For: a relaxing weekend close to hot springs
Mount Princeston Hot Springs is a fun destination for everyone for the hot springs, but it’s a whole other experience to stay on-site! It’s the perfect blend if you love the outdoors, but also want to relax.
This is a great option if you want a more casual, outdoorsy trip centered around hot springs rather than a full luxury resort experience.
It’s secluded outside the town of Buena Vista, which is such a small and cute little town to pop into while you’re there. There are plenty of nearby outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, and rafting if you want to explore.

For: Couples wanting a desert with Southwestern mountain vibes.
Gateway Ranch and Spa is tucked away on the western slope of Colorado with incredible views and a southwestern vibe. It’s such a remote and peaceful destination, yet it has all the amenities, like on-site restaurants, so you can truly relax.

For: A more rustic, all-inclusive ‘mountain ranch’ vibe.
Vista Verde Ranch is an all-inclusive dude ranch just outside of Steamboat Springs, and it feels more like a full experience than a traditional resort.
They have lots of fun ranch activities like horseback riding and fly fishing, which is perfect if you want something slower-paced or activity-focused.

For couples wanting to stay on a cozy ranching property with cute cabins and outdoor activities
Devil’s Thumb Ranch is a gorgeous property just outside of Winter Park and perfect for a quiet escape in the mountains known for its cabins, trails, and relaxed ranch-style feel.
In the winter, it’s a winter wonderland and popular for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and a cozy cabin without the crowds of a major ski resort.

For: The ultimate Colorado mountain escape. Secluded, romantic, remote.
Dunton Hot Springs has been on my Colorado bucket list for such a long time! It’s a super unique outdoorsy experience and super secluded in its own remote ‘ghost town.’ They do an amazing job pairing fun adventures, luxury amenities, and an incredible food and drink experience, yet are immersed in nature.

For: A luxury hotel right in downtown Boulder
If you’re looking for a hotel with a prime location in Boulder, check out St Julien! They have gorgeous and cozy rooms. They also offer spa services with an indoor hot tub, dry sauna, and pool.

For: Red rocks views with a more traditional golfing resort, & close to Denver
Garden of the Gods Resort is another gorgeous option if you’re looking for a little resort getaway from Denver! Some of the best views, a great location with a yummy on-site restaurant.

For: Couples who want an upscale vacation with easy access to both the slopes and downtown Aspen.
The Little Nell in Aspen is a luxurious 5-star resort right in the heart of Aspen. It’s right near the slopes, but also right in town, so you get the best of both worlds.

For: A modern hot springs paradise
The Springs Resort is like a hot springs paradise with lots of different pool options. The suites are luxurious, modern, and cozy.

While most resorts in Colorado allow children, some of them offer kid-free weeks if you’re looking for adults-only resorts.
Vista Verde Ranch turns kid-free in August-fall, and C Lazy U Ranch offers a kid-free week usually in August.
If you’re looking for a Sandals-esque all-inclusive resort in Colorado, you’re probably not going to find it. But, a few of these Dude Ranches in Colorado are all-inclusive with 3 daily meals and unlimited drinks.

Hi! I'm Kelsey!
My photography journey started in 2009 when I fell in love with documenting moments and capturing people in their element.
14 years ago, I moved to the amazing little mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado, from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Wild to say I've photographed over 300 weddings and portrait sessions all over. I started this small but mighty team of local mountain photographers to capture whatever season of life you're in.
