Dillon is easily one of the most beautiful and special places I’ve ever been. I’m lucky enough to call it home, and I’m excited to share my favorite places to stay in Dillon, Colorado, whether you’re visiting for a concert at the Dillon Amphitheater, a summer getaway, or a winter ski trip.
Dillon is one of the best places to stay in Summit County if you want beautiful lake views, easy access to the ski resorts, and a quieter atmosphere than Breckenridge. While there are only a handful of hotels in Dillon itself, you’ll find plenty of vacation rentals and other hotels closeby in Silverthorne, Keystone and Frisco.
Where to stay in Dillon, Colorado
The town of Dillon itself is relatively small and tucked between Silverthorne and Keystone. It’s a popular destination in the summer with sailing on Lake Dillon, concerts at the Dillon Amphitheater, the Farmers Market on Fridays, and the most scenic bike paths. In the winter, it’s a much quieter place and can be a peaceful (and sometimes cheaper) home base for exploring Summit County.
One thing to keep in mind is that while Dillon has plenty of outdoor activities, the restaurant and bar options are fairly limited compared to nearby towns like Breckenridge or Frisco. That said, you’re only a short drive if you want more of a selection.
If you’re planning to stay near the amphitheater, be aware that concerts can get surprisingly loud. This can be a huge bonus if you’re attending a show and want to walk back to your hotel afterward, or enjoy a concert from a far, but if you’re looking for a quiet mountain getaway, it’s worth checking the concert schedule before booking. Staying a little farther from the amphitheater can make a big difference during the busy summer season.
Best hotels in Dillon
Homewood Suites by Hilton Dillon
If you’re looking for a hotel in Dillon, my top recomendation would be Homewood Suites! It’s modern and clean with incredible view of Dillon and within walking or biking distance of a lot. They have a restaurant with rooftop like views of Lake Dillon and bar on-site.
It’s still within walking distance of the marina and amphitheater, but it’s a little farther away, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for something quieter while still being close to everything.
They are doing nearby construction which may effect your stay.
Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge
The Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge has one of the best locations in Dillon. It’s right on Lake Dillon and directly across the street from the Dillon Amphitheater, marina, and bike path.
If you’re visiting for a concert, the farmers market, or want to be able to walk everywhere, this is probably the most convenient hotel in town. While it’s a great location, it’s only a 2-star hotel, so if you’re looking for something more modern and updated, this probably isn’t it.
Other nearby hotel options
If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, there are several hotel options just outside of the Town of Dillon that are only a few minutes away by car.
Keystone, Silverthorne and Frisco are other nearby options that are only about 10 minutes away. Keystone is usually a little quieter, more peaceful, and more secluded, especially in the summer, and can be a great choice if you’re looking to spend more time hiking, skiing, or getting outdoors. If you’re looking for a town with more resturants and bars, check out Breckenridge.
Hotel Indigo in Silverthorne
If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, I’d check out Hotel Indigo in Silverthorne. It’s one of Summit County’s newer hotels and is right in the heart of Silverthorne’s growing downtown area, close to restaurants, coffee shops, Bluebird Market, and the Blue River.
The Block in Silverthorne
The Block (formerly The Pad) is a newer hostel in Silverthorne. While it’s a hostel, there are plenty of private spaces and rooms with lots of modern and colorful fun touches.
Kindred Resort in Keystone
Keystone’s newest resort just opened up in the spring of 2026. Keystone’s a short drive or an easy bus ride to Dillon.
Vacation rentals in Dillon
There are countless condos right on Lake Dillon, many with incredible water and mountain views. I personally love the lakefront condos for a peaceful option with easy access to the marina, bike paths, restaurants, and amphitheater. Note that the further you get from the amphitheatre on a concert night, the less busy and loud.
If you’re traveling with family or a larger group, you’ll also find plenty of vacation homes in Dillon and the surrounding towns.
