As a wedding photographer of 15 years, I know how hard it is to figure out what the best website platform is, along with a long list of many other questions.
I had a former Prophoto website and migrated to Showit in 2018.
In my photography career, my end goal is always long-term. I aim for a good client experience, high-quality branding, and ease of use.
My favorite things about Showit
Professional and modern design features for anyone.
Showit has made it so easy to build out a high-end website without design experience.
My biggest thing is ease of use. I am NOT a designer, but you better believe a pretty website is a must for me. Along with SEO capabilities and a good user experience.
Showit checked all those boxes for me.
Showit is integrated with WordPress blogs, so I was able to migrate (Showit offered the migration service) my former blogs from Prophoto to my new site.
Great customer service
There’s nothing more stressful than building out a website when you have no idea how to build out a website. Gone are the days of no customer support and you’re on your own to navigate a little thing we call WordPress.
Yes, Showit is a giant learning curve (so is any new software), but it’s so manageable with their resources and help.
It also is a website building platform AND website host, so I was able to cancel my former website hosting.
This not only saved me money but having a separate website hosting was so confusing for me. Just another thing in the mix that I didn’t understand and no one to ask. To find out that Showit would be an all-in-one was huge!
Custom templates and template library
If you feel overwhelmed on building out your Showit site, I highly recommend having someone do it for you! There are so many Showit designers for a custom design, but also so many gorgeous Showit premade templates.
It’s good for mobile
Having a mobile-friendly website is a no brainer in 2026.
You have the ability to design your mobile site separately from your desktop design which is great for features you don’t need on mobile.
This is also a blessing and a curse. You do have to design the mobile portion seperately. I didn’t realize the layout would be formatted differently for mobile and made my website look broken.
Who is Showit right for?
Anyone selling their services whether you’re a creative or professional, looking to design a beautiful, high-quality website without coding knowledge needed.
I think web designers will always point you in the direction of WordPress as it has the most flexibility. Personally, this sounds like a nightmare as it’s too advanced for me.
I wanted all the abilities for me to easily drag and drop elements VS code, advanced design etc. as well as customer support I could rely on because IT is NOT my thing.
