Layers. First things first, let’s start with what’s most important. Stay warm! Layers look so cute and even better, so warm! A mix of cute jackets, scarves, vests or even blankets. Don’t forget your base layer to stay warm! Long underwear under dresses and pants as long as it doesn’t look too bulky. Temperatures are usually below freezing in the mountains of Colorado in the winter. Don’t skimp. Warm socks and warm shoes will be a lifesaver. Bonus points if they can handle snow. Hats, mittens or whatever cozy knit you have!
Hand and foot warmers! Such a luxury to have on hand. Put these in your boots during your shoot or in your jacket pockets to stay toasty.
Choose a color palette for your outfit. I love pops of color mixed with the snow or any combination of neutrals will look classic.
Bring a warm drink to warm you up! Incorporate it into your shoot for a more natural feel WHILE staying warm. Win win. I guess this isn’t really an outfit tip, but props can look so cute in your photos. Also will make the kids happy and produce the cutest photos.
