So many experts have said it, have multiple sources of income.
As a full time wedding photographer, I’ve tried a variety of side hustles to see what works with my life and priorities.
Freedom, flexibility and joy. That’s what I base my goals and visions on and what are my top priorities.
Rover has hands down been my favorite and most reliable source of income for one of my side hustles! I wasn’t sure what to expect as usually, my job as a wedding photographer isn’t flexible enough to get a part-time job.
Super flexible! I’m a full-time wedding photographer and wasn’t sure how it was going to work with my schedule. You can set your calendar and close it off if needed, set how many walks, boarding, or visits you want to do, and turn off different services.
My least favorite part is they want you to reply within 24 hours which I don’t love, but understand. They ‘score’ you based on the amount you reply, take bookings etc.
It’s my first month so I’m still getting the swing of it and I haven’t been updating my calendar like I should. I also have a senior dog myself so I have to decline a lot of dogs.
I still made about $1000 for the month! I was so surprised with how many requests I kept (and keep) getting.
I did! Once I got a couple of reviews, I bumped my prices a bit. I now have 6 reviews and feel comfortable where they are at!
I would just be sure to disclose that and be honest on your profile! It may be harder to get bookings, but I don’t think it hurts to try! It for sure comes with a lot of responsibility and pressure depending on each dog/animal. But also something I think anyone can do!
So far SO comfortable and safe! Everyone has been great. I do live in an overall pretty safe area though. So many people have ring doorbells or a pet camera and that’s the only time I felt ‘uncomfortable’ lol
