Whether you do a first look n your wedding day or not is completely up to you! There are pros and cons to both that we’ve listed below so you can decide for yourself!
You might already have an idea in your head or a feeling in your gut! Chat with your partner to talk about what will fit you and your day the most.
Seeing each other before the ceremony can be so special! There are a few reasons why people do a first look! #1. Time! Getting photos done before the ceremony means more time at your wedding and more time with your guests! Instead of doing your couple’s photos during cocktail hour, we’ll do all the pictures before the ceremony leaving you all the time to just enjoy the day.
You can also decide if you want to include family pictures and wedding party pictures in this time or save that for after the wedding ceremony.
We recommend 15 minutes for the actual first look. Plan for at least 30 minutes for couples pictures and don’t forget to add in a second location or drive time if needed!
Worried that a first look may take away from the special moment of walking down the aisle? All of our couples that have done a first look have never looked back! The special feeling of walking down the aisle and seeing each other is still there. Couples actually say that it helps with the nerves! As silly as it is, alone time for the two of you on your wedding day is far and few. Enjoy every second!
What a special moment! As the saying goes ‘When you know you know.’ If you’ve dreamed of that magical moment of walking down the aisle, first glance at each other, then this is your moment!
Be sure to plan your cocktail hour so the guests are hanging while you’re off doing pictures! Directly after the ceremony, we’ll start with family pictures then the wedding party, and finish with couples pictures! Planning enough time is key while also making sure your guests have something to do!
