Free yourself, live your dreams

I’m writing this post cruzin’ on a train with a view of the pacific ocean out my left window and gorgeous mountains out the right window jammin’ to Mumford and Sons. Seriously, could this get any better?! 

I’ve wanted to travel to California for what seems like forever but it seemed so out of reach and it always just seemed like ‘a dream.’ I was constantly making some sort of excuse and let my hesitations get in the way.

How would I afford it — would I be able to get off work — is it nuts to go by myself.

Anxiety has always been a huge problem for me and held me back from doing so many things. It seemed like I took anxiety medicine when I did anything out of the ordinary because I was afraid to have an attack but I flew across the country staying with people I don’t know, and haven’t taken a single pill. BOOM. Suck on that anxiety. 

This is absolutely the most amazing experience in my whole life. Sure, I’ve only gone to California. Millions of people have been here, there and everywhere but it’s an awesome feeling to cross something off your bucket list — and the thrill of doing it all by myself..amazing. 

I wanted to write this to encourage everyone to live their dreams. May it be traveling, something crazy you’ve always wanted to try, whatever it may be: DO IT! Don’t let anything or anyone get in the way — you’ll figure it out. Easier said than done but I’ve made it across the country broke as a joke but I’m doing it and having the best time. Start planning, start saving, don’t let it just be a dream. Couch surfing was a huge reason I was actually able to afford this trip. Didn’t have to pay a dime for a place to stay and had a local personal tour guide to share amazing experiences and stories with. I’ll take it. You could also try Swagbucks so earn a little extra cash. It takes awhile to start up but I’ve gotten a $200+ in amazon gift cards. Not bad for not doing anything! 

Time to go enjoy the last hour I have on the train. I seriously think I could ride this sucker for days.
